Gameday Post #14: Texas Rangers at Yankees
After being skipped two times through the rotation, Freddy Garcia finally made his first start for the Yankees on Saturday. He provided a much-needed quality start by throwing six shutout innings and allowing just two hits in the 5-2 victory. Mark Teixeira went 2-for-3 with his 5th HR of the season and 3 RBI on the day. Nick Swisher and Andruw Jones also added 2-hit games, and Robinson Cano popped a two-run homer to bail out Rafael Soriano’s disastrous performance. But there was reason for concern as Alex Rodriguez was pulled after the 6th inning with lower back and oblique stiffness. It is unclear whether A-Rod will be available for tonight’s game.
CC Sabathia, on the other hand, will be available for the Sunday night prime-time matchup. He will be opposed by Alexi Ogando as the Yankees look to deliver CC his first win of the 2011 season.

PITCHING PREVIEW (from MLB.com)
Alexi Ogando (TEX): Ogando has pitched 13 scoreless innings in his first two MLB starts. He allowed two hits and a walk in seven innings in a 2-0 win over the Tigers on Monday. He left when a blister started bothering him on his right index finger.
CC Sabathia (NYY): Sabathia wasn’t happy with his command after allowing a run in 5 2/3 innings against the Red Sox in his last start. He beat the Rangers in his only regular-season start against them in 2010, then was 1-0 in two ALCS starts.
