Gameday Post #11: Baltimore Orioles at Yankees
The Yankees got back on the right track and pulled into a tie for first place after Wednesday’s 7-4 win over the Orioles. A.J. Burnett had his stuff working for the most part, throwing six shutout innings. He ran into trouble in the seventh, allowing two 2-run HRs, but the offense scored more than enough. Alex Rodriguez tallied two hits, including a 3-run HR. Jorge Posada added a solo HR of his own, and Derek Jeter continued his push to 3,000 hits with two knocks and an RBI.
Phil Hughes will take the bump tonight looking to turn the season around. He will go up against Jake Arrieta.

PITCHING PREVIEW (from MLB.com)
Jake Arrieta (BAL): The 25-year-old is coming off one of his worst starts, allowing a career-high eight earned runs to the Texas Rangers in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader. Arrieta lasted just 3 1/3 innings.
Phil Hughes (NYY): Hughes has gotten off to an awful start, but he hopes to find his missing velocity by using his lower body more in his delivery. The right-hander is 4-2 with a 5.04 ERA in 11 games (eight starts) against Baltimore.
Derek Jeter: 2-4, RBI — 65 hits from 3,000
Mariano Rivera: 1 IP, K, SV — 36 saves from 600, 38 saves from all-time record
